    Dear Baltimore Bike Party,

Just did my first BBP and had a blast – despite a flat tire in Patterson Park (yes I had a spare tube but it too was flat), Anyway I just want to thank you and everybody who makes this happen. When I moved here 20 years ago Baltimore sucked as a bike town. There is still much to do, but its light years ahead of where it was. Looking forward to many more BBP rides!!! .

The link for the map for the ride on the 28th doesn’t work. It’s a 404 error.

    Hi there,
Do you guys cancel the event due to rain? Typically do you ride through it?
    Thanks!

We thought we’d pass along the letter we sent to the Mayor today regarding Friday’s ride:

    Dear Ms. Rawlings-Blake,

We attended the BikeParty on Friday night and were just astounded by the number of people participating, as well as the diversity of the participants. We saw children in trailers, older ones on their own bikes, and every other age group up through quite senior citizens. From the bike handling skills of the younger riders who were performing extended wheelies and other tricks, it was clear that cycling was something they loved and spent a lot of time practicing. The police escort was much appreciated and apparently very well coordinated. The entire event was a marvel of cooperation and very enjoyable.

We came from western Howard County to ride, and ran across friends from Silver Spring and Frederick, all of us driving an hour or so each way to participate. We spent over $35 at the food trucks, plus $11.50 to park in a lot and a gas fill-up on the way out of town – money that would have stayed in Howard County were it not for this event.

We had a wonderful time and intend to return for future rides. Congratulations on a job well done and many thanks to the organizers and to the city for its great support of the event.
